Rowntree’s Chocolates Art Deco Shop Display Box c.1910s An original early 20th century Rowntree’s Chocolates cardboard advertising box, complete with its original fitted inner tray. Finished in black with gilt swallow decoration to the sides, the box features classic Rowntree’s branding including the “Rowntree’s Chocolates” illustration panel and Emperor Quality label. The interior comprises a white paper-lined tray and a brown card base stamped P53, consistent with period retail or shop counter use. This is a scarce survivor of pre-war confectionery packaging and displays beautifully as a decorative storage box, prop piece, or collectible advertising artefact. The wear, patina, and surface losses are entirely in keeping with age and use and contribute to its authenticity and visual appeal. A strong piece for collectors of Rowntree’s, British chocolate advertising, or early retail display ephemera. ConditionOriginal antique condition with visible wear consistent with age and use, including edge rubbing, surface marks, scuffs, small losses to corners and general toning. The interior shows staining and marks from historic use. One corner edge has split. Wear is entirely in keeping with an authentic early 20th century confectionery box.
