Gunk Volume 1 started in a bedroom, with no plan. Neel Jassani was deep in the gallery art world and burnt out on work that needed explaining instead of feeling. So she spent three days making pages that didn't need to make sense: layouts, fake ads, graphic design experiments, just to have fun with it again. What came out of it became the first issue of Gunk: a spotlight on the people building UAE subculture, skate, fashion, hip hop, alongside new creatives on the rise. Bold, unpolished, and made for anyone who'd rather feel something than explain it.
